If your Cozmo stops working less than 5 minutes after being charged or is DOA on the charger, you might have a bad battery. This Cozmo battery will bring it back to life and make it run longer than the official battery (600 mAH vs 320 mAH).

This battery fits perfectly in both Cozmo

You may think “why not go bigger” like an 800mAH battery (some will actually fit), but the circuitry in these robots will not see a benefit past 610 mAH as they are configured to charge the battery up to a certain point and stop charging – so a larger capacity battery will not get fully charged and is not needed.

Changing the battery will require disassembly and some soldering skills but it can easily be done (I’ve replace them on all my robots).

Remember to transfer the clear rubber tape on your old battery, as this helps separate the battery from the circuitry in the robot and prevent premature charging cutoff.
